While the person or entity was speaking to him, he had his hands behind his back as though relaxed. He pulled at the darkness he knew was just waiting for him.

The only indication he'd attempted an escape was the twitch of his fingers, no more no less. He looked rather neutral in expression. He could refuse to answer questions, of course, however, he wouldn't learn anything that way.
