JEMA'GRETHY MEMORY SHARE

The caves of Jema'grethy will allow for a few different ways for memories to be interacted with. But for most, such as those entering in bonds, it will be seen like a vision in their head, putting them in the position and perspective of whose memory it is.

For people sharing bond memories, and also memories being shared while moving through the Memory Cave, this is the spot to place said memories! It's not necessary if you'd like to write it during the thread, but hopefully convenient for others. Just make a toplevel with your character's name in the header, and remember to include any content warnings thereafter for each memory, as applicable!

Bonding Memories - For Kiyoiri

First memory: last 48 hours

You walk down a long hallway bordering a green courtyard open to a bright blue sky. Something, someone catches your eye. Shuffling your textbooks under your arm, you grip the railing and lean forward.

"Silver! Wake up! The ground is no place for a nap!" you yell. The student resting on the grass jolts awake and searches for the source of the shouting. You meet his eyes, lips pulled into a frown. "What if Master Malleus needed you? And you're going to be late for your next class!"

That gets Silver moving, and you continue on down the hall until you're next to your fellow retainer. The two of you then start walking together despite being of different years and heading to different classes. Silver doesn't seem bothered in the least as you lecture on the importance of punctuality and needing to stay awake. It's clearly a near daily occurrence for the both of you.

Second memory: positive

Before you, the fishing line goes taut. You dig your feet into bank as the fish threatens to pull you into the water. It's unbelievably strong. Your grip on the rod starts to falter. You can't reel it in fast enough.

"Help!" you yell.

Your siblings rush to your side. Your older brother grasps your waist and pulls you to his chest. Your older sister covers your hands with hers on the fishing rod. Together, all of you tug and reel in the line. The salmon flies out of the water. Everyone's eyes are wide.

"Sebek, look at your catch!" your sister laughs. "It's bigger than you are!"

Your brother ruffles your hair. "Let's go back home and make it into a dinner for everyone."

They help you carry it back and get to work making it into salmon carpaccio. When your mother and father arrive at the house, they are overjoyed to see the meal. Even Grandfather smiles at you, and that's a rare thing indeed.

You've never felt such joy and pride before in your life.

Third memory: negative

A young Sebek is running some errands with his mother, father brother, and sister. Marking off items on the grocery list beside his mother is Sebek's job. His elder siblings have gone off to retrieve something with their father, so it's just the two of them for the moment.

"Wait, are you... It is you!" A fae woman exclaims as she sees Sebek's mother. "It's been so long! I heard the ugliest rumor that you married a human, but I see you actually just adopted a human child. How did you do it? Was the process hard? Why did you do it?"

His mother's brows furrow, and she stands straighter. "Sebek is my flesh and blood, and I did marry a human."

The fae woman looks scandalized and covers her mouth. It's during this time that his father comes with his siblings in tow. Sebek looks from his mother and then to his siblings. They look so much like her, dark hair, long pointed ears, and many sharp teeth. Already they have their magic, just like she did at a young age. No one would mistake them for being anything other than nocturnal fae.

Sebek runs his fingers over his own ear... round and small like a human's. He looks to his father; they have the same light green hair. The only sign of his own fae heritage are his vertical slit pupils and a few pointed teeth. He still hasn't gotten his magic yet. His father doesn't have magic....

"To think a Zigvolt would not only marry a human but give birth to a child that's practically human..." The fae woman sneers and points to Sebek, whose eyes are starting to water. "That is a disgrace to your family and doesn't belong here."

"Now now, there's no reason to get into an argument when we're just shopping for groceries." Sebek's father is all smiles and a calming voice. He places a hand on his youngest's head. It should be comforting. It makes Sebek's stomach clench. "Come, Sebek. We don't want the milk to go bad while we're standing here. Let's go make our purchases."

His father leads him away as his mother handles things. "I'm... a disgrace...?" Sebek whispers to himself. Is that why his grandfather never seems happy around him? Why everyone else looks at him differently than his siblings, his mother? Briar Valley is his home. He is his mother's son along with his father's.

He's not fae enough to be fae, and he's not human enough to be human. So what is he then? Where does he belong if not here?
